Improv and friendship

Improv and friendship

We are a company of ten professional actors, that perform every week longform improv in Sofia. So far we're the only company doing longform and we strive to grow as individuals and as a group of friends.

The venue

The venue

We perform in a 125 seats stage on the main theater street in Sofia, which has 5 theaters with 450+ seats within a 10 minute walk. Additional standing audience is allowed, which could lead to up to 200 visitors.

The crowd

The crowd

We've been doing our main show: "Say Your Word!" for three and a half years, rarely in front of less than a full house. Our show is unique and we have a solid fan base.

Opening

Opening

The group was founded by Zlatin, who always starts the show with a warm-up of the audience.

They love it...

Reactions

Reactions

We focus on relationship based scenes and rehearse 3-9 hours a week, trying to get ahead of bad habits and improve our work.

Object work

Object work

Since we started with no formal improv training, we focused on Viola Spolin's exercises and object work for few months.

Two-person scenes

Two-person scenes

For the last year and a half we focus on relationship based scenes and experiment with new longforms.

Tradition

Tradition

Due to the long theatrical tradition in Bulgaria, the audiences expect the shows to last not less than an hour...

Three parts

Three parts

...that's why our show consists of three parts. A scenic Harold, an Armando like middle part and a musical improv finale.

Kids

Kids

As our acting professors used to say: "If you can hold the attention of kids, you're doing a good job!"

Aren't we?

Aren't we?

We're all children, really...

We love what we do

We love what we do

Thank you for reading it all :) Hope to see you soon in Sofia :)

"Shizi", means "schizo" and comes from Schizophrenia, though in Bulgarian, it's not connected to a disease, but rather means: "A person, that shows many contradicting behaviours and emotions."
